Trademarks in an agent workflow: clean register access

BuiltPublished:

Starting questionHow does trademark and design data from a European register get straight into a workflow with AI agents instead of through a browser?

Works

The server provides eleven EUIPO APIs with 71 operations and separates anonymous access from access with user consent.

Through a server that exposes the EUIPO APIs directly to AI agents: eleven APIs with 71 operations. It separates anonymous access by the application from access with the user’s consent, which portfolio, mailbox, and filings require.

What we built

We built a server across eleven programming interfaces of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with 71 operations.

It strictly separates anonymous access by the application from access with the user’s consent. Consented access is needed for one’s own portfolio, the mailbox, and filings.

What it means for business architecture

Which authorization model applies is part of every data source. Fetching public and personal data through the same route blurs accountability.

Lessons learned

  1. The catalog and reality differ. One interface is in operation but not listed.
  2. Read and write access need separate approvals.
  3. A sandbox with integration tests comes before production access.
